Virginia Shepherd received her BA and MM from the University of Hawaii. She taught piano privately for several years in Honolulu, and shortly after moving to Kauai, became an associate at the Lois Ricciardi Piano Studios. Ms. Shepherd has also been active as an accompanist.
Besides accompanying solo musicians, she was the staff accompanist at the University of Hawaii and rehearsal pianist for several musical productions. Not only does she work with Ms. Ricciardi at the piano studio, but Ms. Shepherd is also privileged to work with her as the accompanist for the Kauai Chorale. Ms. Shepherd’s students participate yearly in the National Piano Guild Auditions and have also participated in Pianomania, a monster piano ensemble organized by the Hawaii Music Teachers association. Ms. Shepherd is a member of the Hawaii Music Teachers Association.
